Filet 'o Shrimp

Filet o’ shrimp also known as the EBI(Shrimp) Filet-O is a shrimp stuffed, panko battered and fried, patty served on a sesame bun with lettuce, minced onion, and mac sauce. This by far is the most different sandwich we tried in Japan and making it at home took it to the next level.

Shaka Shaka Chicken

The Shaka Shaka is our top pick from McDonalds Japan because eating a piece of chicken like this was so fun. For this snack you take a succulent piece of fried chicken, place it in a bag, and shake on your favorite seasonings. Snack wraps need to take notes on the Shaka Shaka.

  1. Clean the excess fat off the chicken. If the chicken breasts are big cut them into 3 pieces.

  2. Place the chicken in between two pieces of saran wrap on a cutting board and tenderize it. This also makes the chicken bigger.

  3. Set up the dry ingredients by combining flour, corn starch, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.

  4. For the wet batter combine 2 eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Triple bread the chicken by placing the chicken in the wet batter first, then into the flour, back into the egg, and then into the flour again. One more time into the egg and then the flour.

  6. Deep fry chicken for 6-8 minutes at 350°F or until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. Once cooked place chicken in paper bag and shake on the spicy seasoning if you like it spicy OR use a cheese powder if you prefer that. This is the fun part! Shaka shaka and enjoy your snack snack.
