Julia's Reeses Taco

Shortly after our Oreo Taco competition Julia started brainstorming other favorite snacks and candies that should be in taco form too. With her love for chocolate and peanut butter she decided why not make her favorite candy, Reeses, into a solid hand held dessert.

  1. First make your taco shells by creating your 2 batters. One peanut butter and one chocolate. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl combine your milk and the remaining ingredients, then add to your dry mixture whisking until smooth.

  2. Heat a griddle to 350°F and spoon 2 tbsp onto the griddle and using the back of the spoon, make s circular motion to create your flat and thin taco shell. Flip the dough and cook evenly on both sides. Once fully cooked place on parchment paper and hold the edges up until cool, creating a taco shape, repeat until batters are all used and you have both chocolate and peanut butter taco shells.

  3. While your shells cool create your two Reese's taco fillings, one chocolate and one peanut butter.

  4. In a stand mixer add your shortening, butter, and whisk until combined. Sift your confectionery sugar and dry peanut butter OR cocoa. Add your dry ingredients gradually to your stand mixer. Add orange food dye to your peanut butter taco.

  5. Now build your tacos. Choose either peanut butter OR chocolate shell. Use the opposite cream for each taco. Place a second taco shell on top. Scoop in your Reeses Ice Cream and top with chocolate syrup, whipped cream OR filling, Reeses Cups, and Reeses Pieces.
